Client Rights & Responsibilities

You have rights and responsibilities as a client of PAARC as you participate in individual or group treatment.

Please note that your right to privacy is explained in a separate policy, which is explained thoroughly in our Welcome Package, introduced to and discussed with all clients on their first visit. As well, your rights and responsibilities are posted in common spaces at all of our locations as a reminder.

PAARC’s goal is to provide you with quality service through a person centred and holistic approach. Entering into treatment for substance use and/or concurrent disorders can help you gain new understanding about your substance use and mental health, gambling/gaming behaviour and associated concerns. Participation in treatment may also lead to learning new ways of coping with and solving problems. Understanding what is expected of you and what you can expect from us enables you to participate in service with ease. If at any time you have questions about your Rights and/or Responsibilities, please feel free to contact your worker or your worker’s supervisor or complete the Client Compliments/Complaints/Concerns Form. If you need to contact your worker’s supervisor, please call Monica (Human Resources) at 905-629-1007 ext. 227.

PAARC will make every to ensure that your rights are maintained.

You have the right:

  • to equitable access to our services (more information is contained in our Access to Service Policy, which is provided to you in your Welcome Package)
  • to be assigned a primary worker to be treated with dignity and respect
  • to understand the full scope of services available to you
  • to be yourself
  • to your own feelings and values
  • to be heard
